Blaire's journey into the world of construction began at the tender age of 17. Leaving her hometown of Kamloops, BC, she ventured to Grand Prairie, Alberta, to embark on an electrical apprenticeship. This initial step set the stage for a diverse career that saw her traversing BC, AB, and SK, primarily engaging in the oil and gas sectors, but also gaining valuable experience in energy and agribusiness.

Her years as an electrician were instrumental in laying a solid foundation of construction knowledge and hands-on experience. This rich background paved the way for her transition into the realm of Health and Safety (HSE). What began as a temporary foray into HSE has evolved into a longstanding commitment, continually challenging and engaging her in new ways.

In her capacity as an HSE manager, she has broadened her industry exposure to include power stations, potash, commercial construction, and even ventured into the educational sector. She once coordinated a Women in Trades Training Program at Thompson Rivers University (TRU), an experience that enriched her perspective on the importance of diversity and inclusion in our field.

Her role in HSE is multifaceted, encompassing program maintenance, development, implementation, compliance, auditing, and training. It's a role that requires a deep understanding of the intricate balance between operational efficiency and the uncompromising standards of health and safety.

Outside the professional sphere, her life is equally vibrant and fulfilling. She is a wife and a mother to two young daughters, sharing their lives with a beloved dog and two horses. Her family provides a joyful counterbalance to her professional responsibilities, keeping her grounded, entertained, and perpetually busy. Together, they navigate the challenges and joys of life, each day bringing a new adventure and learning experience.
