Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Driller to join our team at BAT Construction. The Driller will be responsible for operating specialized drilling equipment to install shoring systems and horizontal drain holes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of geotechnical drilling techniques, safety protocols, and equipment maintenance, particularly in the context of slope stabilization and groundwater management.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate Drilling Equipment: Safely and efficiently operate drilling rigs and related equipment to install horizontal drain holes and shoring systems, including soil nails, anchors, and tiebacks.
Site Preparation: Assist in setting up and preparing drilling sites, ensuring that all equipment is positioned correctly and ready for operation.
Install Horizontal Drain Holes: Drill and install horizontal drainage systems designed to manage groundwater and prevent slope instability.
Shoring Installation: Work with the engineering team to install shoring systems that provide structural support and ensure the safety of excavation sites.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, conducting regular safety checks and ensuring that all drilling activities are performed safely.
Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on drilling equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of drilling operations, including depth, angle, and positioning of holes, and report any issues or deviations to the project manager.
Collaboration: Coordinate with site supervisors, engineers, and other team members to ensure that drilling operations align with project specifications and timelines.
Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during drilling, such as difficult ground conditions or equipment malfunctions, and implement effective solutions.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in geotechnical drilling, specifically in shoring and horizontal drain hole installation.
